We leave for Australia in 6 days. The movers are coming Tuesday to get the things to put into storage and then packing for Australia on Wednesday and Thursday and loading it into the crates and onto the truck on Friday.... eeek!
We are doing really well on getting things done. My room is sorted, the den is sorted and the garage in 95% sorted. The living room is going "as is", the breakfast nook and kitchen are 99% done. Just need to go through a tiny bit of stuff in the guest room, Carla's temporary room. The biggest thing left to do is clean Jared's grill and clean/empty out the lawnmover and fridge in the garage.
I got a lot done today, but Carla wasn't able to help too much. She didn't sleep well last night and this morning we got a phone call from her sister saying that their aunt had passed away. She has been ill for some time and they knew she wasn't going to be around much longer, but it's still and emotional thing to deal with. So, she slept a good bit of the day while I sorted in my room and then we went out, got some supper, did a bit of shopping, etc. She now is going to bed early, which is fine. I will probably sort through the stuff under my bathroom sink tonight.
The girls (the dogs, Abby & Izzy.... Jared called them his "girls") are starting their journey to Melbourne tomorrow. Tomorrow morning at 8:30 the guy from PetTransporter.com is picking them up to take them to Tucson to fly to Los Angeles. They have to stay in there in LA for a while as we wait for some of their blood test results to come back from Ft Sam Houston (that's where the Ft Huachuca vet sends the samples to be tested). Their whole trip and then quarantine in Melbourne is going to be really expensive (don't even ask....), but we think they are worth it. :) Their crates are all ready to go, paperwork on top and filled water bowls in the freezer to be attached tomorrow morning. Now I just need to tear up newspaper into ½" strips to line the bottom of the crates. Fun Fun! Anybody wanna come help?
